Srija, daughter of Praja Rajyam leader and actor, K. Chiranjeevi, who accused her husband of harassing and ill-treating her, said she had sent emails and SMS to her father and other family members whenever she was abused by her husband Sirish Bhardwaj.
In her statement to the police on Tuesday, Srija alleged that her husband and mother-in-law, Surya Mangala used to beat her and kick her.
She said her husband banged her head against the wall and she sustained injuries because of it.
She also alleged that Bhardwaj used to keep her baby away from her.
Police from the Central Crime Station, a women`s police station, booked a case against Bhardwaj and his mother and is now collecting the evidence for the case.
The cops have asked for the emails and text messages and also property documents related to transferring of property of Srija to her parents.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, J. Satyanarayana, said: "We have speeded up investigation on the case. The girl is in a state of shock and our inspector has recorded her statement."
Police has also collected the medical bills regarding the injury caused to her head. In her statement Srija did not make any allegations against her father-in-law and said that he is a good person.
