The speculations emanated from the reports that Jagan had called on KVP, who was undergoing treatment in Care Hospital in Banjara Hills on Saturday night. Both of them reportedly had confidential one-to-one discussions on the contemporary political situation.
KVP had reportedly enquired about the progress of the YSR Congress Party activities and the recent MLC election results, sources said.
There are reports that KVP has not been happy in the Congress party, as nobody is caring about him in the party ever since YSR died. While Kiran Kumar Reddy has kept KVP at bay, the Pradesh Congress Committee also has stopped consulting him on any issue and so is the Congress high command. Moreover, the attempts to reopen the debate on land allotments during the YSR regime, in which KVP had a major role, also hurt him a lot.
So, KVP is said to be of the view that he can play at least behind the screen role in building up the YSR Congress Party. If KVP joins hands with Jagan, it will be a major setback for the Congress party, as he is the most capable leader who can attract majority of the MLAs and leaders into the YSR Congress Party. It will be a big morale booster for Jagan as well; and he can concentrate on other activities, while leaving the party safely to KVP, sources said.
