Jai Bolo Telangana Review – Jai Bolo Telangana Telugu Movie Review: The title itself says what Jai Bolo Telangana movie is about. Before we get into the review of this cinema, we have to mention one thing. Jai Bolo Telangana is purely based on the emotions of people who are seeking separate Telangana state. It is a one dimensional film that caters to those hot blooded Telanganites. So we leave it for your choice to watch it or not. So what is this movie about? Read on Jai Bolo Telangana review…

Story:

Bandagi Gopanna (Jagapathi Babu) family is involved in Telangana movement from decades together. His father and grandfather dies fighting for Telangana. Gopanna too dies for the same cause. His wife (Smruthi Irani) leads a life by serving people in Telangana. However, his son Varshith (Sandeep) doesn’t take Telangana movement seriously and says he wants to have a peaceful life. He falls in love with Sahaja (Meera Nandan) and she too loves him. Varshith comes to know the problems that his villagers and other Telangana people have been facing and joins the ongoing Telangana movement. This step affects his love story as Sahaja family gets her engaged to an Andhra political leader.

What is the solution for this love story and Telangana movement concludes this film.

Analysis:

Jai Bolo Telangana focuses mainly on the issues that happened during December 2009. The film’s sole purpose seems like it is made only to show that Samaikyandhra (United Andhra) movement is instigated by few politicians and industrialists who were against Telangana. Director N. Shankar stressed that Telangana movement is a ‘Pavithra Yuddham’.

Rather making a film about well known issues Shankar should have concentrated on touching the unknown or lesser known things. He should have got in to the roots of Telangana movement and highlighted the agreements made during the collaboration.

But the director focused on trivial matters and myths like showing Andhra people are suppressing Telangana youth by not offering them any jobs. He has also shown that youth should sacrifice their lives to keep the movement alive. Also he has subdued the purpose of the film by keeping his focus more on the love story. He used most of the screen time for that love thread which doesn’t help the proceedings.

The film picks up towards the interval point but soon loses steam due to poor content. N. Shankar didn’t do any research before making this film is evident. There is so much to show beyond this. N. Shankar tried to make a commercial film in the name of Telangana movement. Had he stayed loyal to the purpose of the film, it would have really worked.

Performances:

Jagapathi Babu did a small role which has hardly ten minutes of runtime. Jagapathi Babu did well but should’ve concentrated more on his dialect. His Telagana dialect sounds artificial. Smruti Irani is a complete miscast. Her expressions are out of place at times. Jhansi dubbed for her and she did a good job. Young actor Sandeep is good and carried off his role with ease. Meera Nandan also is fine with her performance and screen presence. AVS and Janardhana Maharshi sprinkled some fun moments in this serious film. Nagineedu did fine. Gaddar’s song will connect well to the targeted crowd.

Technicalities:

Chakri’s music is Okay. There isn’t any powerful or haunting song in this film. That is a weakness for films like these. Music does play a big role in this type of movies and Chakri’s music sounded dull and pale. Background score is weak too. Cinematography and Editing are not up to the mark.

Plus Points:

- It will appeal to Telangana seeking crowds
- Few heart touching scenes

Minus points:

- One sidedness in the narration
- Too much focus on trivial issues without even mentioning about bigger matters.
- Poor screenplay and dull climax

Final Word:

Jai Bolo Telangana will do well in Telangana region and is likely to hurt the feelings of people in other regions. You can watch this film if you are an avid separate Telangana seeker.
