Women Welfare Minister Sunitha Lakshma Reddy on Monday stated that the government would launch two new schemes for the welfare of women and girl child.
Talking to media persons after reviewing the progress of women welfare works with CDPO and project directors at Jubilee Hall, she said that new scheme named ‘Sabitha’, which provides nutritious food to girl child under the age of 11 to 18, would be launched on experimental basis in seven districts soon.
Another scheme titled Indira Gandhi Mathrutva Samyog Yojana, which provide financial assistance of Rs 4,000 to pregnant woman, would be launched on pilot basis in Nalgonda and West Godavari district by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy soon, she said.
Officials from 10 districts attended the programme.
