It is sure that this would trigger a big political uproar in India. This may become a weapon for BJP to pillage Congress into pieces.
In the cable dated August 2009, Roemer quotes Rahul as having told him during a lunch meeting that, "although there was evidence of some support for Laskar-e-Taiba among certain elements in India's indigenous Muslim community, the bigger threat may be the growth of radicalized Hindu groups, which create religious tensions and political confrontations with the Muslim community."
Roemer also quotes Rahul as saying, "...the risk of a 'homegrown' extremist front, reacting to terror attacks coming from Pakistan or from Islamist groups in India, was a growing concern and one that demanded constant attention."
We have to see where this controversy ends. Is Rahul Gandhi hurting majority Hindus in India in the process of trying to get close to minority Muslims? Or is this the deep opinion of Rahul Gandhi about Hindus? That has to be known yet.
