Ace producer Konda Krishnam Raju, who has embarked on a 70-crore magnum opus, hired production designer Stephano and make-up exponent Christiana Tinsley from Hollywood for his film on Jesus Christ. "Meticulous pre-production work is the hallmark of Hollywood films, so we hired the production designer who has command over art, costumes and cinematography departments," he says. Powerstar Pawan Kalyan is playing a key role and the producer is in talks with an Oscar-winning costume designer and hair dresser to give an edge to this story on the 'messenger of peace'.
Meanwhile, producer Priyanka Dutt sought the services of a four-member crew from Slycam-Hong Kong - a flying camera unit - to shoot some breathtaking sequences on Shakti, 40-crore magnum opus. "Of course we paid a bomb, but the flying camera got us innovative angles and terrific exposure and is bound to give the audience a visual treat," says Priyanka Dutt.
Another young filmmaker, Devineni Prasad, earmarked a good chunk of his 25-crore budget to hire martial arts experts from China to choreograph sword and other action sequences in his socio-fantasy Anaganaga O Dheerudu. "Our social fantasy demanded an action exponent, so we hired international stunt master DD Joe, who belongs to superstar Jet Lee's action team," he reveals, adding that the work of action director William Mong on fabulous sword fighting sequences means audiences are in for a real treat.
