The Special Court for Anti-Corruption Cases on Monday directed the Hyderabad city police to register a First Information Report against former chief minister K Rosaiah in connection with illegal allotment of government land worth around Rs 200 crore to private parties in Mytrivanam area in Ameerpet, a prime commercial slot. Accepting a petition on the issue, the Special Court directed the ACB Director General to inquire into the matter and to submit a factual report to it by January 28, 2011. The Court's directive means that proceedings in the case can go ahead against Mr Rosaiah over his role in the alleged scam.

Advocates K Mohanlal and T Sriranga Rao filed a petition before the Court last Tuesday that Mr Rosaiah, one G N Naidu and 13 of his associates were punishable under Section 11, 12, 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 406, 409 and 420 read with 120 of IPC for committing irregularities. The advocates also requested the Court to refer the matter to ACB Director-General.
