Hundreds and thousands of Rajni fans thronged cinema houses across Tamil Nadu as advance booking for the unprecedented hyped ‘Endhiran’ began this morning, six days ahead of the release on October one.

Reports said the tickets were sold out in couple of hours after the bookings opened at 0900 hrs in more than 500 theatres across the state.

The tickets were booked for atleast one week in full and many returned disappointed as they could not get tickets for first day first show.

Mr Niranjan, Manager of Sathyam Cinemas in the city, said people started coming in queues since last night and the turn out was more than expected.

He said computers crashed as thousands of Rajni fans tried to book the ticket online at the same time this morning. The online bookings were resumed only after the faults were rectified, he said.

Tagged as Tamil cinema’s costliest film, the film produced by Sun Pictures at a cost of about Rs 120 crore, will be released in almost all the 40 theatres in the city.

A record 2,250 prints have been made for the Rajni-Aishwarya Rai starrer, directed by Shankar, which is expected to break the records set by the Superstar.

The film is to be released worldwide in more than 2,000 theatres and simultaneously released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
