While films are inspired by Hollywood movies, it is not easy to have our actors give performances inspired by their western counterparts. Especially the really memorable roles that are now synonymous with the actor playing the part. Well, our evergreen Rajinikanth it seems, has been inspired by Heath Ledger’s Joker from The Dark Knight which was part of the Batman series. For anyone who has watched Heath’s performance or for that matter, even Jack Nicholson essaying the role, they would know that it is not an easy role to play. But one can learn from the portrayal of that character for sure. A unit source revealed, “The Joker's character in Batman had elements of madness in him. It was these unpredictable quirks and traits that made the character engrossing. Rajinikanth suggested that Robot should depict similar traits in the film as he felt that incorporating those traits would make the character a lot more interesting to watch.”
Though there are doubts that the audience may not accept his pairing with the much younger Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rajinikanth reportedly is cocksure that his presence with Ash is enough to lure the audiences to the theatre. “That is why you never see Rajinikanth travelling to different cities to promote his films since he has the highest fan following. His presence at the music launch was enough,” our source added.
