Here’s the latest buzz in the industry: Nandamuri Balakrishna is going to do the remake of the evergreen classic ‘Lava Kusa’. The movie is going to be directed by none other than Kala Prapoorna Bapu. Incidentally, Balakrishna’s father, N.T.Rama Rao acted in the original film as Lord Rama. And here’s even more: Nayantara will play Sita in the film. Only recently Nayantara scorched the silver screen with her complete traditional look in the movie ‘Simha’, opposite Balakrishna.
The old film, ‘Lava Kusa’ is a cinematic version of the last chapter ‘Uttara Kanda’ of the epic Ramayana. The film is etched in the memories of many Telugus. It had great actors like N.T.Rama Rao, Anjali Devi and Kanta Rao. It was one of the first Telugu films which was completely shot in color and had about 37 songs and shlokas.
We hear that music maestro Illayaraja is giving the music for this remake of ‘Lava Kusa’. It is also reported that 12 songs and few shlokas have already been recorded for the movie. The movie is expected to be launched on October 3rd.
Yelemanchali Sai is the lucky producer who managed to get all these bigwigs together for what is expected to be a poem on screen.
